taking off!

We are putting it into high gear, taking off on our mini-vacation thanksgiving get away today! It is absolutely pouring down rain-- a gully washer as my grandma used to say-- and it might be only slightly calmer where we are going.

Fort Casey of An Officer and a Gentleman fame, is located on the coast of Whidbey Island, and although the weather is often milder out there, I don't expect much in the way of sunshine. Still, whether we are cozy-ed up in the trailer having quality catch up time, or exploring the old fort in our rain gear, we are excited to escape for a couple of days. Poor jet-lagged Bruce really needs this!

so, there is packing to be done and I am on it!
