it is OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL. After weeks and months of waiting.... after paperwork and doctor reports and more paperwork.... finally today, I was hired.
And now I am laughing. Because after all that wait there is suddenly this big rush to get me to orientation and training. Like report-to-Orientation-Monday-at-7am- rush.
Um. not to be disrespectful or a trouble maker (no, not me) and as excited as I am to have this finally move forward, I do have a LIFE. If I was still working at another job there would have had to be, in good conscious, a 2 week's notice, right? Well, OK, so I am not working but still, I have a lot of things in the works next week and I can't just drop it all and forget it. As I said to the postmaster, I have commitments next week that I can't just walk away from. We will need to reschedule my orientation.
So I will report in 2 weeks to the "mother ship" in Seattle for 2 days of orientation. it almost feels a little anti-climatic after all the fuss to get me approved for the job. I feel special. I feel relieved. Whew.
Tonight my man and I are going out for a little celebratory date. Have a great weekend everyone!
