Yay for Vacation!

A mini-albeit- working vacation-- but hey--we'll take it!!

Tomorrow we are loading up the work truck and heading to one of our favorite places ever: Tall Timber Ranch. Nearly-Yearly we go, for a week in June to an event known as 'work n' worship'

Our church camp has a week every June just before the official start of their summer camp program, a week where summer staff is being trained and volunteers from all over come and spend a few days helping however they can to get the camp ready for summer. Sometimes it's a simple project like sweeping the dust bunnies out and slapping on fresh paint, or more complicated projects like remodeling a cabin. Whatever the case, we love going over and helping out while at the same time soaking up the solitude, beauty and time for worship with other believers.

This year we have heard that turn out for this week is very slim. The summer staff will be there in full force but volunteers for spiffing up duty are probably less than 10.  Maybe as low as 5. But it's okay. Bruce and I will spend a few days (shortened because of my mom -- I need to get her to a Dr's appt on Thursday) working on whatever. And each evening we will have a time for worship and bible study. I volunteered to lead the evening worship time. So have been spending the last couple of days pulling together materials and resources for that.

Tall Timber Ranch is located near Lake Wenatchee and is bordered by pristine wilderness and glacier rivers. It's awesome!! (and it's where Bruce and I met, started falling in love, and where he proposed-- yes-- we love it!) We look forward to the time of fellowship and community as projects get sorted out, but we also know there will be times each evening to take a walk by the river or thru the woods.... walk the prayer labyrinth... or just sit on a giant log and contemplate the overwhelming grandeur of the mountain range around us....

it will be a short vacation... a working vacation.... but for us it's a change of pace and it always brings refreshment. I can't wait!
