Being Thankful Day 16

8 years ago this morning, after a fire destroyed their home, my daughter gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby boy. Kristjian Winter Jarman came into the world totally unaware of the circumstances surrounding his arrival. Only hours before a fire had swept through their little house, consuming everything in its path. My daughter, 9+ months pregnant, along with her husband and their 3 year old son Zaccari escaped with little but the clothes on their back.

But material things are just material things and I am forever thankful that God's hand kept them from physical harm. The outpouring of support from our community was amazing, overwhelming in generosity and love. And this grandma has to admit that it was a very special 30 or so days that followed when KJ and his family came and lived with us, allowing granny to rock and sing and coo at her newest grandbaby. (Because Zac was born in Florida and they did not move here till he was almost 2, I missed those early years with him. So it was an extra special blessing to have Zac and KJ-- and mommy and daddy too-- with us for that month.)

Happy birthday Kris! I love you sweetie!
