Macedonian/Deming Call

and a vision appeared to Paul in the night; a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Acts. 16.9

Ironic. Starting this blog because we were going to Macedonia on a mission trip. Meanwhile this little scene unfolded in whatcom county; someone in Deming wrote to Christ the King church and said "come over to Deming and help us." and they did.

We were reminded of this yesterday as we met with Pastors at CTK. They responded to the call to come to Deming, concluding that God was calling them to come and preach the gospel here. And they have been.

It's been some what of a struggle. the ground is hard. the enemy wants us to fail. people prefer to stay home, safe in their own cocoons rather than venture down the road to the little church with a big name. But we shall not be beaten. the enemy will not prevail; the HOLY SPIRIT SHALL OVERCOME!

in Macedonia it started with one. One convert; Lydia... and then her family. and a church was started. then the Philippian jailer and his family.... so shall it be in Deming. God will bring us one. One who's heart will be open to pay attention to what God is saying through one of his own.

Please pray with us for this harvest. We believe Deming is ripe for a harvest, even if the people here do not know that yet. Pray for the seeds we plant. pray for the planters, for more planters, for more harvesters. pray against the weeds that want to choke out the good seeds. pray for the Spirit of the Lord to prevail, to open doors that no man can shut.

pray for the builders... who will teach how to build sanctuaries where the Spirit can dwell.
