Packed and at Peace

Really. All packed!! Bruce too. Whoo-hoo, we are so awesome hahaha. Cleaned house this morning, including clean sheets on the bed-- won't that be nice to come home to?! laundry done and garbage out. Kitty-sitter is all set with her short list of instructions: feed the cat. pet the cat.

Walk with Melody this morning -- one last time to really stretch those legs before a sit-in on several planes. she gave me some good looking books to read while on the trip. can't wait to delve in! she asked me just before we said good bye if i was nervous... you know what? I am excited and I suppose nervousness will set in as we land... but i am so filled with God's peace and the assurance that He called us to this. I showed Melody the little wooden cross I have on my purse right now. It has been traveling with me for about a year now. It was during the CTK 'cross walkers' series and it is part of the story about feeling the call on my heart to go on this mission trip.

I woke up at 3 am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep (Probably had something to do with the grande burrito I had at dinner last night!!) so I finally got up and did some constructive things like paint my toenails and organize my purse. then i finally settled in the living room chair and started reading scripture at random. I have a short and sweet verse that the Lord brought to my attention that is now written down on a post-it-note and going with me as my pocket verse of encouragement.

From 1 John 5:4 "For every child of God defeats this evil world by TRUSTING CHRIST TO GIVE THE VICTORY."

WOW! So simple but so powerful!!  Now anytime I face a difficult situation I can remember and rest in perfect peace that I only need trust in Him for the victory.  it's not up to me to bring it. what a sweet relief.

  1. Oh my sweet little friend...I know you are going to have an amazing time and I cannot wait to hear all about it when you get back and we resume our walking! Rest assured... you, Bruce and the rest of your mission team will be in my prayers. I pray that God will be able to show His love to the women in Macedonia, by using YOU to shine HIS light. (along with using Bruce and the rest to show His love and 'handiwork' too)
God's peace and blessings be upon you.
take lots of pictures for me so I can live vicariously through you! hehe

    always your friend,
    melody
