I met with my dear friend Melody Mae for coffee today and she BLESSED me with an early birthday present! A lovely cross necklace with the Scripture notation Romans 10.15---Yes....how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!! I love it. I want very much to share a picture of my new treasure but I am having blogger issues. It seems I have used up all my free storage and until I figure out how to either delete something or add something, we shall have to be picture-less. I do need to resolve this issue and soon because how will I be able to share our mission trip without those pictures? Aggh.
I want to share a little bit about the children who are going to be moving into the orphanage we will be working on! Cherie McCullah moved to Costa Rica from Missouri in 2009. She established Residence for Life as a way to bring stability to the life of children who are unable to be adopted. I will share with you a recent post from her facebook page:
Today is going to be an important day for the kids of
Residence of Life. They are going to be told about moving here sometime today. It is going to be a very happy day for some of them but sad for
others. Family services has decided to separate one of the families so the
three of them will find out today that the 4 year old is not coming here but
will be adopted instead. Also there are a few other kids that want to live here
but with the space we have it is not possible. For those that are coming and
beg to live with me every time I see them, this is going to make their day :)
Later that day Cherie posted an update:
The meeting with the kids went well! Of the 6 of them 5 were
very happy. The 7 year old boy said he didn't want to go unless his friend and
his Tia (auntie in Spanish) went with us. He thought about it a while, then
asked if I have movies at my house and I told him I do. Then he wanted to know
if I had popcorn and I told him yes. Then he informed me he wants to eat cereal
for breakfast every morning and then he was happy about coming. :)
Kids... pretty much the same where ever you go!
I am so glad you like your little gift. When I saw the cross on http://www.mercyhousekenya.org/ I HAD to buy it for you! It had YOUR blog verse on it and it helped Mercy House Kenya! I will miss ya while you are gone but, very proud of what you do with the gifts that God blessed you with.

I'll be praying for your trip, Robyn. I know those children will see Christ reflected in you. I'll be heading out on my first mission trip in January--your joy is contagious:).
ReplyDeleteSweetie, here is a great story from the website that I found the necklace and it has a picture of it too!!! LOL
