thankful on the balmy wet post thanksgiving day for all the blessings of yesterday!
... safe travels through the snow and ice, to Bellingham and back.... twice!
... learning that my niece and family are going to adopt again-- this time TWO beautiful babies from Ethiopia!! (you can read all about their amazing story at
http://rossfamilyadoption.blogspot.com and also about their non profit http://nolongerorphans.blogspot.com)
... our friend who had knee surgery on Wed. feeling almost pain free and for our lovely visit together.
... hugs from family, and conversations by phone with family not close by.
... day well spent with mom,
... and 55+ other people as we all gathered together for a 'friends becoming family' holiday meal at the church.
... for the building that was a church that became a tavern and then became a church again and is thriving in the mountains of paradise/peaceful valley
... for pastor Steve and wife Karen and their love and dedication to the people there,
... for mountains of food, prepared with love!
... for fellowship and fun, from the start of the day to the end!
and today... waking up to find almost all the snow gone! Well, a little sad that the lovely white stuff has melted but embracing the warmer temps and safer driving conditions. a day to relax and eat pumpkin pie and eggnog and not count calories (just for one more day anyway!!)
appreciating all the the Lord has blessed us with~ home~family~love.
and now... let the countdown to
Christmas MY BIRTHDAY begin!
